Fixing Stuck uPVC Windows in Brighton

ASL Locksmiths have been flat out again this week dealing with many different locksmithing jobs, from lockouts, lock upgrades and lock changes following theft of keys.

Another big aspect of the work that we undertake entails uPVC window repairs. We took these photos on one of our jobs this week. We carried out repairs to uPVC windows that were not shutting or locking correctly. The hinges and espags have gone rusty and needed replacement.

An important process is carefully disassembling the windows and setting them safely. We supplied and fitted new full locking espags with new correctly sized hinges, before rehanging the windows and calibrating to ensure that the windows are making a good, tight seal.

UPVC Hinge Replacement Woodingdean

We had a call from a customer in Woodingdean today who explained that he could not open or close the upstairs window properly. We found the hinges had failed. The original installer had used the incorrect stack height (size), this resulted in excess strain and the subsequent failure of the hinge. ASL replacing failed uPVC window hinges.

Patio Door Repair Brighton

ASL was contacted to repair 2 patio uPVC doors in Brighton & Hove as they were no opening or closing properly. We quickly removed the doors and replace the hinges which had rusted. We are also able upgrade locks which should be a priority for older uPVC doors. We also have the skills to replace glass, single and double glazing.
